Medicine Buddha thangka in our small gompa

Observed on the 15th day of the Tibetan lunar month, this puja entails making offeringsand reciting the Sutra of the Medicine Buddha, praising the eight Medicine Buddhas.

The prayers are performed in a mix of Tibetan and English.

Recitation of Manjushri Nama Sangiti (Chanting the Names of Manjushri), is considered a most auspicious practice, as the text is among the most advanced teachings given by the Shakyamuni Buddha, being a tantra of the nondual (advaya) class, along with the Kalachakra Tantra.

Since the passing away of Root Institute's spiritual guide, Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, this practice is undertaken with the special intention to bring the quick return and recognition of Rinpoche's incarnation.

Dedications of these highly beneficial practices can also be made for:

  • the success of projects

  • the recovery from illness of friends or relations, and

  • the blessing of the recently departed.

Everyone is welcome!
