10-day course
The Seven-Point Mind Training text written by the 12th Century Tibetan Buddhist master, Geshe Chekhawa, is as relevant for us today as it always has been, and not just for the ordained Buddhist community.
During this 10-day retreat we will have the time to examine in more detail its profundity, based partly on Serkong Tsenshap Rinpoche's special three days of teachings that precede it; and how by taking this succinct advice as our guide, we can transform the view of ourselves and others, to create the attitude suitable for traversing the challenging road to awakening.
Join Ondy for an in-depth consideration: teachings & commentary, meditation, discussion and self-reflection.
Concepts covered
-
The roots of wisdom and compassion – the suffering of samsara
-
Adopting the ultimate view of reality – investigating emptiness
-
Developing the altruistic attitude – training in Bodhicitta
-
Transforming problems using the mind-training slogans.
Powerpoint presentations for download – PPTX files

Course / retreat discipline We welcome your application to participate in our Spiritual Programme. We now offer all Dharma events without charge, however we do require bookings for planning purposes. To make the most of the opportunity, we suggest the following: Settle all outside communication before you begin your course or retreat. Telling friends and family that you will be out of contact for the duration will significantly help to reduce distractions. Likewise, settling your travel arrangements, etc. before you come to Root Institute is highly advisable. To maintain a healthy, calm, clear mind, observing silence will bring conducive mental space. Practicing Dharma is a source of happiness; enjoy each step along the way! Thank you for your interest in Root Institute's Spiritual Programme. We'll do our best to support you!
